Steps to Learning
Steps to Learning is a preschool program funded by the United Way. This school readiness program is designed to ease families and their children into the school system successfully. Using a comprehensive interactive play based method, families and their children will benefit and enjoy success. The program ensures the following six developmental areas; independence skills, self-help skills, cognitive development, reasoning, social interaction and language development are included in the curriculum.

Nobody’s perfect
WHO | Parents and caregivers with children 6 years and under |
WHAT | With trained facilitated staff in weekly sessions. · Positive parenting is promoted. · Parent’s understanding of children’s health, safety and behaviour is increased. · Parent’s self-esteem and coping skills are improved. · Community services and resources that is needed is made accessible to parents/caregivers with the help of trained staff. · The prevention of family violence is discussed as well. |
WHY | A safe interactive setting where parents/caregivers can meet with other parents of young children (0-6 years). · Share questions or concerns and ideas about being a parent. · Learn about child development ,safety ,health and behaviour · Talks and sharing experiences about real life parenting with the other parents. · Work together with the trained facilitators to problem solve parenting issues. · Discuss ways to implement positive parenting. |

Parenting 1234
Parenting 1234 provides support to parents/caregivers who need more specialized programs, such as teen parents, parents involved in CAS, or parents who don’t feel like they fit into other parenting programs.
This program allows parents to build self-esteem and become empowered while learning new skills and methods of parenting that are effective and appropriate.

Indoor Park Drop-In
A safe, supervised environment that lets children be active and meet their physical development needs by running, using riding toys and bicycles, playing games, and interacting with others. Parents/caregivers must remain with their children.
Hours of operation:
Thursday, 10:00am – 1:00pm





Healthy Foundations
Encourages and promotes families and children to take an approach to a healthier lifestyle through physical activities, knowledge and skills to take action and maintain good eating and exercise habits. Promotes an integrated approach of physical movement skills to be continued at home.
Hours of operation:
Saturday, 10:00am – 11:00am





Family Math
Family Math is a six day program that is community based and designed to help and involve families in their children’s math education. The sessions educates parents/caregivers how to work and play using the concepts that are learned in this program. The aim is to encourage children, parents and caregivers to develop positive attitudes towards mathematics.

Monday – Thursday, 12:00pm – 1:00pm

Early Literacy
A six (6) week family literacy program that helps parents/caregivers understand how children begin to read and to develop and support pre-reading skills. Weekly sessions offer fun activities, discussion, as well as play and circle time to encourage reading skills.

EarlyON Child and Family Centre
A relaxing and child friendly space staffed by Early Childhood Educators in which children and their parents/caregivers can play, learn, participate in activities, make friends, and find resources and information about parenting issues and programs.

EarlyON Drop-In: Monday – Friday, 10:00am – 1:00pm
EarlyON Drop-In: Monday – Thursday, 2:30pm – 5:00pm





THRIVE
Creating a welcoming space for participants with different physical and learning abilities. Part of EarlyON Child and Family Centre Drop-In Program.
The program is FREE. Registration required.
