Go beyond a resume. Build the strategy, network and confidence to find your niche here.
The mock interviews are extremely helpful. The 1:1 support, career coaching is very helpful. And ATS- (Applicant Tracking System) friendly resumes are also helpful in getting people noticed when applying for jobs.
When opportunities are harder to find, preparation matters more than ever.
Finding work in a new country can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to figure it out alone. Scadding Court’s Newcomer Employment Entrepreneurship Skills Hub (NEESH) program gives you practical tools, knowledge and confidence to navigate today’s job market and build a career in Canada. Because in a tough job market, the right strategy makes all the difference.
NEESH is a free, 6-week program designed to support newcomers to Canada (Permanent Residents and Convention Refugees) as they begin their employment journey. Whether you’re looking to secure a job or start your own business, NEESH offers in-demand training tailored to your goals.
- The program runs twice a year in a hybrid format, with live Zoom sessions on Wednesdays and in-person workshops on Saturdays at Toronto Metropolitan University’s downtown campus.
- On-site childminding is available during Saturday sessions.
- A fully virtual cohort may also be offered, delivered through the Diversity Institutes online learning platform.
Participants benefit from:
- A dedicated cohort-specific WhatsApp group
- Networking opportunities, pop-up markets, and other professional development events
- A Certificate of Completion upon meeting course requirements
- Access to mentorship opportunities after the program
Led by Scadding Court Community Centre, NEESH is proudly offered in partnership with the Diversity Institute at Toronto Metropolitan University, and is funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
