SCADDING COURT COMMUNITY CENTRE: A FOCUS ON FOOD SECURITY

Thank you for your incredible generosity- with your support, we have been able to  make these difficult times better for a more bearable year and festive season for our community! We are raising funds for essential services, meals, and we continue to promote local entrepreneurs. A focus in the last year has been to make sure residents have access to healthy and fresh food. To support these critical efforts during these ongoing challenging times, please visit us here.

SCCC continues to with our partner agencies, Alexandra Park Community Centre and Alexandra Park Neighbourhood Learning Centre, to coordinate and deliver emergency and essential services to underserved and vulnerable residents.

We are humbled by the generosity our friends and neighbourhood family have shown during this time. It has helped us ensure those who need it, are able to have a hot meal; those who need supplies or supports, are able to receive them; those who need access to fresh and healthy produce receive hampers and food delivery, and those who need technology to stay connected to family, friends and programs at the Centre, have what they need.

During these very difficult times, we know supporting families and vulnerable residents is critical for our holiday season to ensure that our neighbourhood can safely celebrate without worrying about basic essentials such as food.

Please consider supporting our efforts today. A tax receipt will be issued for all contributions over $25.00.

ALEXANDRA PARK COMMUNITY CENTRE

Alexandra Park Community Centre continues to deliver critical lunchtime meals to low-income, racialized and newcomer seniors living in tall towers in the Alexandra Park/Atkinson Co-op community, and those living in close proximity who are also low-income, isolated and often racialized or newcomer seniors.

Our community elders need us more than ever, now. As the neighbourhood continues to change with its ongoing revitalization, many under-served residents have been further isolated and placed on the margins by this pandemic.

  • A donation of $25 will provide five (5) hot meals to seniors in need
  • A donation of $50 will provide 10 hot meals to isolated low-income seniors in need
  • A donation of $100 will provide 20 hot meals to isolated low-income seniors in need
  • Donations will also support the distribution of grocery cards and food hampers to isolated low-income seniors in need

Every dollar counts and matters so much. Please consider donating to APCC’s Emergency Senior Meals Program in the drop-down box here.

ALEXANDRA PARK NEIGHBOURHOOD LEARNING CENTRE

Alexandra Park Neighbourhood Learning Centre continues to deliver critical literacy and information/referral services to under-serviced, low-income, often newcomer, adult learners. These times have become even more challenging for isolated, racialized, newcomer low-income communities. Keeping residents connected and learning, engaging and building networks is more important now that ever before. Please consider making a contribution to our adult literacy programs directly here.

Please know all your funds are going to support critical services and programs in a community that is significantly under-served and often unrecognized as a low-income pocket of a largely middle income neighbourhood.
