FoodFit is a free cooking program available to people of all ability levels. It is focused on building our nutritional literacy and promoting our healthy habit, while helping us balance our diet with tasty, affordable recipes. We work on our increasing our physical activity levels by focusing on daily walking as a form of easy and cost-free exercise.
FoodFit is a 12-week program, meeting once weekly to engage in a short discussion with light snacks, a bit of light physical activity that usually involves a short walk, and most importantl cooking a shared meal from scratch using fresh ingredients. A typical workshop lasts 3 hours, the bulk of which is spent in the cooking class (and eating!) portion.
- Learn how to cook a variety of cuisine styles using healthy recipes. Participants also receive a free cookbook.
- Learn the benefits of regular physical activity, with a focus on walking as a way to stay fit. Participants also receive a free pedometer.
